March 30 2012 it’s not typical for me to prepare early for some “planned” hang out/trip, but for some reasons, I woke up really early this morning (despite sleeping at around 1am) and prepared earlier than expected. The road trip to San Pablo’s Sampaloc Lake took almost 2 hours of our time with little naps here and there and a couple of direction asking along the way. We were supposed to watch the sunrise at the lake but we miscalculated the time XD so missed it. But never the less, we were still welcomed by a very pretty view of an early morning lake scene. :-) The reflection of the sun lit sky on the surface of the lake was just beautiful that i found myself taking landscape shots instead of the normal “me plus a scenic background” snapshot.
Me and my friend strolled by the lake under the energetic beam of the morning sun while chatting non-stop (as usual) and while keenly observing the inhabitants of the lakeside (i.e. fishes, snails, protozoas, turtles, algaes). Like most of our hangouts, we quickly lost track of time. It was another relaxing moment. All we did was peak at the lake side, take little walks, sit somewhere shady and share little details about our lives. It’s not everyday that you’ll have such opportunity to forget about the stresses of your normal, fast-tracked life and be a simple entity in the world capable of laughing heartily and lazing out without any pressured thoughts. And yeah, I really enjoyed those couple of hours spent at Sampaloc Lake and San Pablo :-)
On the way back to Tanauan, we encountered heavy rain falls. I should feel bad about that but I reverted the not so good weather by using good music to lift the spirits up ;-) It was a roadtrip turned soundtrip XD but once in our destination, the weather became oh so sunny and nice. A good sign?…of impending adventure? :))) yeah, it definitely was a sign! XD Because after the fruitful meeting of KANLUNGAN, we took the road to Lipa only to end up gasoline drained! HAHAHA, And the funny thing about it was that the kids took it as an opportunity to experience the ever so fail film scene where some kids would push their out of gas car straight to the nearest gasoline station. Those kids really know how to spell FUN! :))) 300 hundred years were spent mending that movie-like scene at the road side (kidding!) Then after stopping over at BIR, we went full speed to Robinson’s Place. The kids decided to roam around while me and my friend took the chance to have our hairs restyled in time for summer =D And I sure will never forget my Salon experience today. first, my stylist “almost” refused to cut my hair the way I wanted it to. Second, my stylist took the effort to convince me to simply pull a simple style that won’t involve cutting my hair in such a short manner. Third, I was the talk of the salon plus the center of attention during the time when my hair was FINALLY being styled. Fourth, I was given tons and tons of compliment because (despite the eccentricity of it) the style suited me perfectly. =D It was an “experimental mash-up” of different styles so I wasn’t sure if it would turn out good or what. And I’m simply elated by the fact that people find it really suitable for me :-) “Mission Accomplished!” as stated by my friend.<will post photos some other time>
I thought the day would end with that but suddenly, the folks I spent the day with decided to go food hopping and so we speed away back to Malvar to dine at some Lomi House. It was a super meal with all the teases and taunts we threw at each other before, during and after the meal. I was with people way younger than me but I really felt like I was hanging out with my peers because of all the good laugh. So yeah, this day was another unexpectedly amazing day for me. Spending it with people you barely know and yet having so much fun, isn’t that amazing? :-)
…looking forward for other days like this! :-)
